Free for Bitter Root Pottery Members (LIMITED TO 30 PEOPLE)

*Experience: this workshop open all experience levels.
Bitter Root Pottery Aqueous is thrilled to welcome back Coyote Glaze’s very own Alex Butt for one of his amazing glaze intensives. Learn the ins and outs of working with Coyote underglazes and glazes from Coyote Glaze Technician Alex Butt.
During this special 3 hour class Alex will be demonstrating a variety of ways to use Coyote Glaze and Underglaze, from basic application to more advanced techniques like sgraffito and majolica. Special attention will be spent discussing how the slow cooling process affects the appearance of many glazes and allows the Coyote’s unique Crystalline Glazes to work. Some colors will be provided, with more available to purchase at the Bitter Root Store.

Recommended to bring:
Two to three bisqued pots: Any cone 5/6 stoneware bisque will work great with most Coyote Glazes. Crystalline glazes work best on smooth white clays such as porcelain or b-mix, especially with smooth vertical surfaces.
Two to three leather-hard pots: Sgraffito is best done at the leather-hard stage. Bring a variety of forms and clays to get the most out of this class!
Favorite soft-bristled brush for applying glaze
Favorite detail brush
X-acto knife and favorite small carving tool (only if you bring leather-hard pieces)
Any Coyote glazes you already own
